'5 Signs You Could Benefit from a Pelvic Health Class'
Pelvic floor concerns are incredibly common — yet most women either don't recognize the signs, or assume what they're experiencing is just a normal part of life.
It isn't. And you deserve better than "just deal with it."
Here are five signs that a pelvic health class could make a real difference for you.
1. You leak when you laugh, sneeze, or exercise
This is called stress urinary incontinence, and it affects a huge number of women — especially postpartum and during perimenopause. It happens when the pelvic floor can't manage the sudden increase in pressure.
It's common. It's not normal. And it's very treatable.
2. You feel a constant urge to rush to the bathroom
If you find yourself mapping out bathrooms everywhere you go, or you feel a sudden, urgent need to urinate that's hard to control, your pelvic floor may be playing a role. This kind of urgency is often related to muscle tension or coordination issues — not just a "small bladder."
3. You've had a baby — recently or years ago
Pregnancy and childbirth put significant demands on the pelvic floor, whether you delivered vaginally or by C-section. Many women experience symptoms months or even years after giving birth that they never connect back to their delivery.
Postpartum pelvic health support isn't just for the early weeks. It's never too late to address what your body went through.
4. You experience pelvic pain or discomfort during intimacy
Pain in the pelvis, hips, or during sex is often dismissed or ignored. But it's frequently connected to pelvic floor tension, scar tissue, or coordination issues — all of which can be addressed with the right guidance.
You don't have to just push through it.
5. You're going through perimenopause or menopause
Hormonal changes during this life stage affect the tissues of the pelvic floor, often leading to dryness, changes in bladder control, or pelvic heaviness. Understanding what's happening in your body — and what you can do about it — makes a significant difference.
You don't have to wait until things get worse
A pelvic health class isn't just for people in crisis. It's for anyone who wants to understand their body better, move with more confidence, and take care of themselves proactively.
The Pelvic Floor and More course is a 4-week program starting September 16th at NatureSpace Resort, PEI. Led by Sarah Gaudet, a registered physiotherapist with 20+ years of experience, it's designed to be informative, practical, and genuinely supportive.
Our pelvic floors are innately connected to our central nervous system, therefore each class will also include a 9D breath session which is an evidence based practice that uses breath, sound and neurobiology to create real, lasting transformation, allowing your body to release stored tension, reset your baseline and allow clarity to return. These sessions are led by breathwork facilitator/multidimensional integrative energy flow practitioner, Charlene McFadden
